If you want to save on space you could just disassemble the OUYA.

It seems like you could just throw it in there. The NES is huge compared to the OUYA.

You could heat a piece of metal red hot and use that to cut them off if you. If you can borrow a drill, you could put a cutting wheel in it to do the job as well.

I would definitely be taking the Ouya PCB out of the case if I were to mount it in another case. That puppy would overheat badly all blocked up like that.

Good to see you're giving it a go! :D

Here's a couple things I'll throw at you:
1) There have been no mods that I know of to the Ouya power button, but that shouldn't stop you. The button itself will be easy enough to desolder and then you'll just need to trace the power button wires from the original NES button and solder them onto the Ouya board. If you have some skill and a steady hand, shouldn't be too tough.

2) Removing the plastic screw mount sticking up and the little piece in the back for the hookups should be cake! If you have a Dremel tool, I'd recommend that. If not, just go to the hardware store and get a hacksaw blade. It's bendy enough so that you can get it down to the base of the screw mount for a clean cut; it'll just take some time but would not be hard.

3) Mounting. I would mount the Ouya PCB with the fan down so that when it kicks on it will throw the heat out around the board and the back of the board will be exposed up top so the heat can rise unhindered, rather than have it down with no fan and the heat attempting to rise around the board that way.

4) Make sure you check the fitment of your HDMI cable before you permanently mount the Ouya PCB. Make sure you can fit the HDMI cable, a USB, Ethernet and all that before you put that puppy into place.

Just my 2 cents and I hope it helps. Looking forward to see how you do! Keep us updated. :D

Keep the ouya mobo in front near the power button, you will have to learn the many ways to make the power button actually work with the device though. Either get a usb hub or micro usb male to usb female cable to cover the usb. You could do a hdmi to av converter inside the unit or a hdmi splitter, you could also just do a 12ft to 16ft or higher hdmi cable and seal it in there, and for the power adapter you might want to do it You will also need to have the Ethernet cable either sticking out, wire it yourself with a ethernet cable and socket, buy a short cable with a extension unit or only depend on the wifi.

Like the mod, any thoughts about putting a 2.5 hard drive in a cart and having it plug in like a normal nes game?
