I am moving to Germany soon, and one of the things I am dreading is my loss of the use of Netflix.

I can of course just use my computer to access a proxy server, but it would be nice to be able to have a console (in a similar way that my PS3 can) setup to my tv to watch Netflix.

I know that Netflix is possible with the OUYA, but is there a way to trick Netflix to thinking that the OUYA is in the US when it really isn't?

Does this program work for Ouya (anyone):

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.proxydroid&hl=en

If it does, then you can define a spefic proxy per app (so you could have a US one for Netflix+Hulu, UK for iPlayer + general ouya).

But don't install this without someone confirming this does not break your Ouya!

Another way would be using a VPN service like Cyberghost and to configurate your OUYA with OpenVPN. I live in Germany myself and successfully set up that configuration yesterday. You can also find a detailed HowTo at the knowledge base of Cyberghost.

I am using PureVPN to watch Netflix shows from the Germany. The USA Server is the fastest I tried streaming video on Netflix works great with it.

Unblock-us and changing the dns settings on the network connection like on a regular android device, and you're set.

I understand this thread is a bit on the old side, but I was wondering if anyone has found out if there is a setting to change DNS on the device itself. I'm looking to buy an Ouya but this may be a deal breaker. I currently use Unotelly with ATV2 with the DNS changed on the device itself. I do understand that I can just change the DNS on my router, but we have more devices and we still use UK version of Netflix on another box, therefore changing the router isn't the ideal route as it changes every device in the house which is a pain for BBC iplayer as another example.

Hi Bramble,

Yes, you can set diferents dns by device.
Look at blockless or unblock-us user guide to modify wifi settings for android device.
