I'm kinda new to android but would like to root the ouya. I got the android sdk installed but not sure were to go from there. I tried reading this guide but cant follow it too well http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2270589 . If someone could dumb it down for me I'd really appreciate it.

You need to follow the steps laid out in post 8 they are much clearer than those from OP. They are command line instructions. Look for a general tutorial on using adb to get you started.

Unless you need superuser for something specific,I wouldn't bother right now, because you need to redo it after every update.

http://ouyaforum.com/showthread.php?2471-howto-adb-sideloading-superuser-accessyeah those were the instruction I got confused with. Even one of the first steps talks about going to go, I have no idea where that is using windows.

Like I said forget the instructions from OP and use those from post 8. I see now that the critical step of how to actually start a terminal window is omitted. Right click the platform tools folder and select open a command window here or whatever it says that gets the command window open.
