Hi guys, :)
I'm reading a lot about our dear OUYA and realized that some people use pieces of aluminum to cool the chipset of the device.
Will help the life of the console or better performance or freshness is this procedure?
I found these on EBAY: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Aluminium-Heatsink-For-Motherboard-DDR-VGA-RAM-Memory-IC-Chipset-Cooler-8pcs-3/121037935528?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%2 6asc%3D23423%26meid%3D7684809692537914043%26pid%3D 100005%26prg%3D10050%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D140 875284119&rt=nc

Congratulations to all who cooperate here in the forum.

Hi friend "undftdroar" but I mean in small chips as memory, network chip etc understand? I do not know if these other chips get very hot, so I asked for and I bought a OUYA optimize hardware as best as possible.

The original cooler fan is weak or only makes noise? Because I saw that people replace too.

Thank you!

I don't think adding heatsinks will really change anything, and about the fan people usually change it because they say it's too loud.

Thank you again for reply "undftdroar". :)

I thought it was only kickstarter devices that had loud fans? I haven't heard that fan complaint in months and my OUYA's fan isn't really that loud..

Most other people around here who add heatsinks and whatnot also just like to mod their device :)

didn't even notice any noise from the fan when i had my kicktarter unit Kai.

I will add heatsinks, I think that help health chip sets. Don't yet?

I have two OUYAs and have not noticed the fan yet, could it just be a bad batch of fans or perhaps people with super-human hearing?

The only time I have ever heard the fans was after some xbmc lookups a few months back. I think the fans issue is more of a perfectionist mindset. Granted, I have kids and live in the South. So between the children and the ac system, I would not really hear the fans. :)

The heat sinks are useful, increase the area of chipset and the heat spreading to air faster,if is present an air flow the cooling effect is more faster and the chip sets live longer.

Of course heatsinks help to OverClock more stable and looking "cool".
The best material is copper but aluminium is lighter,so there is a lot of space to "try and learn".

My fan is loud, if the consle heats up after a few minutes. Don't mind it much though but can see other's minding.

I have mine setting on a laptop cooling fan that I paid $19.00 for in Walgreens. Never had any heating problems.
